Raisins, tar and leafy aromas lead to a soft rich palate. This is a medium- to full-bodied wine with a layered texture and good depth. Ripe dark fruit flavours combine with chocolate and spices which linger on the palate. Graciano is an old variety which produces low yields and retains good natural acidity bringing freshness. Bodegas Mateos is working in collaboration with local research authorities on clonal selection and has planted a number of experimental vineyards.
